An exit throat is defined by an adjustable throat bar 50. Sheet separators.-The end card is separated from the pile by an oscillating suction separator 60, Figs. 2, 6 and 7 having apertures 78, of generally arcuate shape, which on oscillating through 20 degrees counter-clockwise moves forward and bends the leading end of the card so as to feed it between the bar 50 and the plate 56, the separator acting through the aperture 58. The separator is formed with an elongated aperture 80 in its floor 68, which aperture moves out of alignment with a suction hose 82 when the separator reaches its leftward position, so as to cut off or reduce the suction and release the card. The separator is oscillated under the control of a solenoid 94. The separator is either eccentrically mounted or has an irregular curvature. Sheet forwarders.-Before a card is released by the separator, it is fed to feed rollers 22 and thence to feed rollers 102 which pass it through a reading station to a stacking mechanism. Delivering sheets.-Sheets emerging from the reading station are formed into a stack against a spring-loaded receptacle end assembly 110, and during stacking the stack is jogged by a rotating eccentric roller 108.
