Abstract

1339672 Releasable fastenings M L SHELLEY & PARTNERS Ltd 18 Jan 1972 [5 Jan 1971] 398/71 Heading E2A A clamp comprises a clamping member 5, a clamping member 16 which is movable towards and away from the clamping member 5, and a deformable member 19 which, when inflated, urges the clamping members into clamping engagement. The clamping member 5 is supported by a structure 2, via a wall 1, having limbs 3 and 7, and via a plate 4 to which it is attached by screw 6. The clamping member 16 is attached by screws 17 to a leg 15b of a member 15 and a leg 15a of the latter is secured to a member 14 which is slidably mounted, via a sleeve 12 and a liner 13, on an arm 11. The latter is connected to a block 10 which is pivotally mounted by a pin 9 on a lug 8 carried by the, limb 7 of the wall 1. The movable jaw assembly can be rotated into a non-clamping position by a deformable member 21 or by linkage. The movable jaw assembly may be returned to the non- clamping position by a spring 30, Fig. 2, when the deformable member 34 is deflated and may be guided by a sleeve 44, Fig. 3.
