Abstract

1338321 Walls; ceilings; facings ETABS A GREGOIRE & L BARILLEAU SA 25 June 1971 [25 June 1970] 29849/71 Heading E1W Walls, ceilings or facings are formed using a combination of generally channel-sectioned tongued and grooved elements 1, preferably of extruded plastics, and covers 16 with angled ribs 14, 15 resiliently deformable to snap into position behind inturned flanges 12, 13 of elements 1. Radial stiffening webs 9 may be employed, and laterally adjacent elements 1 are covered at each end by a pair of anglesectioned members, e.g. (55) and (56), Fig. 3b (not shown) to form a partition. The duct formed by the combination may contain, e.g. a lighting system, when the elements 1 are translucent, and covers 16 transparent or translucent. A further cover 21 may be applied to the rear surface of each element 1. Each cover may engage more than one element 1. Further reinforcement, involving flat strips 38 (Fig. 4) may be employed, allowing heavy objects to be carried, the covers 16 then being suitably apertured. The elements 1 may enclose a cellular material, e.g. expanded polyurethane, or be covered with a waterproof paper, or an aluminium sheet.
