Abstract

1337531 Refractory gas concrete NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT BETONI I ZHELEZOBETONA GOSSTROYA SSSR 8 March 1972 10719/72 Heading C1H Refractory gas concrete is made from a mix comprising water, a binder including sodium silicate and a substance containing dicalcium silicate, a filler comprising chrome-alumina slag and a refractory containing not less than 62 wt. per cent aluminium oxide each in an amount of 22-32% by weight of the mix and a gas-developing agent. The mix can comprise an aqueous solution of sodium silicate, sodium hydroxide, ground sodium silicate, the powdered filler components, nepheline slurry or ferrochrome slag as the substance containing dicalcium silicate, and aluminium powder as the gas developing agent. The mix is poured into moulds, allowed to set and cured in an autoclave at 170-180‹ C. The concrete produced can be used for lining furnaces and can be used at up to 1200‹ C.
