Abstract
1335617 Imidocarbonate derivatives SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [21 April 1970] 27063/71 Heading C2C Novel imidocarbonate derivatives of the formula wherein Y and Z are oxygen or sulphur atoms; Ar is an unsubstituted or halogen- or (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl-substituted pyridine or benzene nucleus, the number of substituents being 1, 2 or 3; R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are unsubstituted alkyl groups or alkyl groups having a hydroxy or alkoxycarbonyl radical in the carbon chain, or an alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl group, the aromatic nucleus of which is unsubstituted or substituted by a nitro radical or by 1 to 4 halogen atoms or (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl groups or, in the case of R<SP>3</SP>, an alkylene radical, provided that when Ar is an unsubstituted benzene nucleus and R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are aralkyl groups, the aromatic nucleus of at least one of the said aralkyl groups is substituted and provided that, when Z is a sulphur atom, Ar is an unsubstituted 3-pyridyl radical and R 2 is a (C 1 -C 18 ) acyclic alkyl group or a (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl-substituted benzyl radical, then R 3 is not a p-halo, p-secondary propyl, or p-tertiary butyl group, are prepared by either (a) reacting a thionocarbamio or dithiocarbamic acid ester of the formula with an organic halide of the formula R<SP>3</SP>X, wherein X is a halogen atom, (b) reacting an isocyanic acid dichloride derivative of the formula with an alkali metal alcoholate or mercaptide derivative of the formula R<SP>2</SP>.Y.M wherein M is an alkali metal, (c) reacting an imidocarbonate chloride derivative of the formula with an alkali metal alcoholate or mercaptide derivative of the formula R<SP>3</SP>.Z.M, or (d) reacting a dialkali metal imidothiocarbonate derivative of the formula with an organic halide R<SP>2</SP>X. The novel compounds possess microbicidal activity.
