Abstract
1335603 Indazolone derivatives AGFA GEVAERT AG 29 June 1971 [30 June 1970] 30340/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division G2] Indazolone derivatives having the general formulae wherein R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen or alkyl; R<SP>2</SP> is (C 1 -C 20 ) alkyl or cyclohexyl; X is -O- or CH 2 and Y is hydrogen, sulpho, carboxyl, carbamyl, sulphonyl, alkoxy or aroxy are used as magenta couplers in photographic material. The compounds are prepared by reducing suitably substituted nitro-benzoic acids, diazotizing the resulting aminobenzoic acid and then subjecting the product to a ring closure reaction.
