Abstract

1334383 Scoring knife BEECHWOOD MEATS Ltd 30 July 1971 [30 April 1970] 20945/70 Heading B4B A knife for making parallel cuts e.g. for scoring pork, comprises a number of blades 4 secured in a holding means 1 such that in use, the cutting edges 5 project beyond end surfaces 6 and means whereby each blade can be moved lengthwise of the holding means to make cuts of varying length. As shown in Fig. 1, the blades are provided with holes 7 through which passes a spindle 9, the latter also passing through slots 8 formed in clamping plates 3. Nuts 10 are threaded on to the ends of the spindle so that by releasing the nuts the blades may be moved together to either a retracted or extended position. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 2, the blades 17 are held between spacing plates 21 located in a holder 12. The blades may be provided with three holes so that the extended distance of the cutting edges may be varied.
