Abstract
1332351 Hydroforming naphtha STANDARD OIL CO 22 Sept 1970 44994/70 Heading C5E Naphtha is reformed in the presence of hydrogen by contact with two different catalysts, the first being a platinum-alumina-chloride catalyst, and the second comprising a metal of Group VIII, e.g. platinum, mordenite and adsorbent alumina. The two catalysts may be in separate reactors or both in the same reactor, or may be mixed with one another. The second catalyst may also contain chloride. The mordenite may be in the hydrogen form. The catalysts may be in fixed or moving beds, with hydrocarbon and catalyst moving countercurrently, or fluidized or slurried in the hydrocarbon. The platinum-alumina-chloride catalyst may also contain rhenium.
