Abstract

1331217 Difluorochloromethylsulphinyl-N- aryl ureas BAYER AG 6 July 1972 [7 July 1971] 31718/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds having the general formula (I) in which one of X 1 or X 2 is difluorochloromethylsulphinyl and the other chlorine or hydrogen, R 1 represents hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkenyl having 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and R 2 represents alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkenyl having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. They may be prepared by reacting a urea having the Formula (II) where one of Y 1 or Y 2 is difluorochloro-methylmercapto and the other chlorine or hydrogen, with an oxygen-donating oxidizing agent. The compounds of the invention may be used as herbicides.
