Abstract

1330382 Fastening devices for railway rails LESJOFORS AB 1 Jan 1971 [12 June 1970] 15/71 Heading EIG A fastening device for railway rails consists of a fastening in the form of a leaf spring which is secured to a rail support, the leaf spring including a U-shaped holder in which there is fitted one end of a clamping member the other end of which bears against the rail foot. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the leaf spring 3 consists of two leaves 4 which are embedded in a sleeper 1, and are juxtaposed at their free ends to form the U-shaped holder, intermediate portions 5 being spaced apart. The clamping member 6 is of round rod bent to the form shown. An insulation sleeve 7 may be fitted around the portion of member 6 bearing against the rail foot 2. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, the leaf spring 3' is a single leaf and the clamping member 6' is also of leaf form, having an insulator 7'. A tool 10 is used for assembly, a portion 11 of which bears on the top of the U-shaped holder, while a portion 12 is engaged within the holder to flex the leaf spring sufficiently to enable the clamping member to be inserted when the tool is pulled upwardly by a manually operated lever 15 via a wire connecting link 14. Insulators 8 and 9 may also be provided. (For Figures see next page)
