Abstract
1330201 Aerators A KNAPP 10 June 1971 [20 July 1970] 19860/71 Addition to 1282957 Heading B1C An aerator has a water flow sub-divider member 3 with axial passages 5 to produce convergent jets, and superimposed thereon a deflecting member 14 to close the passages except at their lower ends, whereby the jets are directed substantially radially; they are atomized by impinging violently on each other or on a member 19 which supports a stabiliser ball 12. The deflecting member may have a roughened upper surface, to reduce the water flow rate, provided by projections 16. Alternatively or additionally to the ball 12 the aerated jet may be stabilised by a baffle 22 comprising radial elements with projections therefrom; the baffle may be integral with the ball 12, the body 1 (see Fig. 5, not shown) or the sleeve 7 (see Fig. 8, not shown).
