Abstract

1329286 Ring drilling device TAMPELLA AB OY 7 Dec 1970 [19 Oct 1970] 58005/70 Heading B3C A ring drilling device for operating in a tunnel comprises a boom 14 rotatable about its longitudinal axis, an elongate boom head pivotally mounted on the boom for a movement about an axis 19 perpendicular to the boom, and a cradle 27 for a feed device 29 of a rock drill 28 mounted transversely on the boom head so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis. The boom head comprises a bell crank lever 20, 21 which is pivotable by a pressure cylinder 22. A housing 24 of a turning cylinder is journalled to the boom head so that when pressure medium is supplied to either end of the housing a piston moves accordingly so that toothed piston-rod 24 forces the housing to revolve about the toothed segment 26 of arm 20. The housing can move through 360 degrees. Boom 14 can be rotated through 360 degrees by a turning cylinder 16. Fig. 3 shows two devices mounted on a carriage which can be firmly located in a tunnel by stays extending from pressure cylinders 12, 13. The feed device 29 is moved by means of a displacement cylinder 30.
