Abstract

1329265 Clearing drafting rollers DEERING MILLIKEN RESEARCH CORP 11 Sept 1970 [15 Sept 1969] 43653/70 Heading DID In a drafting system having three pairs of rolls 10, 12; 14, 16; 18, 20 an apron carrying cradle 26 also supports a "U"-shaped wire member 34 carrying a scraper 28 which engages the top front roll 18 to remove fly &c. before it builds up into a lap. The member 34 is raised cyolicly by an arm 44 which engages a cam 46 fixed on the lower central roll 16. Lifting member 34 allows scraper 28 to rotate a third of a revolution and drop collected fly in so doing. The roller like scraper 28 may have any of the alternative forms disclosed in Figs. 5, 6 and 7 (not shown).
