Abstract
1328866 Dishwashing machines HOBART MFG CO 9 Dec 1970 [25 March 1970] 58531/70 Heading A4F In a dishwashing machine having a control system for providing at least one washing period with cleaning solution followed by at least one rinsing period with water, by the time control of means for (a) introducing a predetermined volume of water into the washing chamber to admix with a cleaning compound to form a cleaning solution (b) recirculating and spraying cleaning solution on to the articles to be cleaned, and (c) draining the washing chamber, there are provided means for(d)de-energizing the recirculating means, after the articles have been sprayed with cleaning solution, so that the articles are soaked with the cleaning solution with the recirculating means de-energized for at least five minutes, (e) subsequently energizing the recirculating means to rinse the articles, and (f) draining the cleaning solution from the chamber, In the described embodiment closure of switches A, B, D of a selector switch assembly initiates a cycle omitting the soaking period and controlled by a timer motor 36. The latter drives cams actuating a switch E in series with a water level actuated switch 53, a water inlet solenoid valve 52, and a rinsing agent dispenser 55, a switch F in series with an air blower 45 for drying the dishes in parallel with a thermally actuated switch 46 and a heater 48, a switch G controlling a detergent dispenser 58 and a solenoid drain valve 27, a switch H controlling an auxiliary timer motor 62, a switch I controlling the liquid circulating pump 22, and a switch J in series with the switch D. During a cycle in which the soaking period is omitted the switch C is open so that the auxiliary timer motor 62 is deenergized. To initiate a cycle including a soaking period the selector switches A, C, D are closed to render the switch H effective to de-energize the timer motor 36 and energize the auxiliary timer motor 62 for a soaking period at the end of which the motor 36 is re-energized by the closure of a switch K by the motor 62.
