1395951 Dishwashing machines HOBART CORP 7 June 1972 [21 July 1971] 26634/72 Heading A4F In an automatic dishwashing machine having means for circulating and spraying water in a washing chamber provided with a door, and a timer for controlling the supplying, circulating, and draining of water according to different programme cycles including at least one complete wash-rinse-dry cycle and another cycle which provides only an incomplete cleansing operation, means is provided for actuating a signalling device when the other cycle is selected and the chamber door is opened, both during and after completion of the other cycle, and the means for deactivating the signalling device when a complete cycle is subsequently selected. The control system includes push-button actuated selector switches A to J, only one push button being effective at a time. When the full cycle push button is depressed the switches A, B, C are closed, the switch A then being connected via a switch 42, closed when the chamber door latch 16 is locked, to switches C to H and to switch M of a series of cam actuated switches K to W operated by a timer motor TM, and controlling washing and drying period indicating lamps WL, DL, pre-washing and rinsing period indicating lamps PL, RL, sterilizing heating element SH, circulating pump motor RP, detergent cups DC and DC', drain valve DV, rinsing agent dispenser RA, water heating element WH, drying blower motor BM, air heating element AH, ,water supply valve WF, timer advance and timer motors TAM and TM. The full cycle comprises pre-rinsing, washing with detergent from cup DC, two further rinses, washing with detergent from cup DC', three further rinse periods, and a drying period. The appropriate indicating lamps PL, WL, RL, and DL and illiminated as the cycle proceeds, and if the cycle is interrupted by releasing the door latch 16 the indicating lamp corresponding to the period in which the interruption occurs remains energized. When the rinse-only button is depressed the switches A, B, C, E are closed and the timer advance motor TAM, is twice energized so that one rinse only is performed. When the chamber door is opened after or during the rinseonly cycle, the release of the latch 16 closes a switch 45 to energize the rinse-only indicating lamp RO via the closed switch B. The lamp RO remains energized until the door is closed or until another cycle is selected.
