1328578 Laminated wall covering RICHARDSON & PATTINSON Ltd 5 May 1972 [18 Nov 1971] 53597/71 Heading B5N A flexible wall covering comprises a resinimpregnated stitch-bonded fabric, preferably one in which warp fibres are stitch-bonded to weft fibres without interweaving, adhered to a paper backing sheet. The impregnant may be polyvinyl acetate or urea-formaldehyde resin and may be applied as an aqueous dispersion, either in the fabric dye bath or, after dyeing, by padding in a bath or by spraying. The fabric may comprise a regenerated cellulose weft and a polyamide warp; either the warp or the weft may be constituted by two or more different fibres. The layers may be bonded by an adhesive, which is preferably solvent-based polyvinyl acetate but may be a latex, starch or acrylic material. The adhesive may be applied by spraying or by roller.
