Abstract

1,180,081. Flocked laminate. SCOTT PAPER CO. 2 Feb., 1967 [2 Feb., 1966], No. 5199/67. Heading B2E. [Also in Division B5] A heat-deformable laminate capable of being formed under heat and pressure into a deep drawn configuration comprises a layer 14 consisting of a sheet of thermoplastic material, an interlayer 15 of a resilient polyurethane foam bonded to one surface of said thermoplastic sheet and a layer 16 of flock material adhesively attached in a generally vertical position to the exposed surface of the polyurethane foam layer. The polyurethane foam is preferably reticulated. The adhesive e.g. natural or synthetic rubber, vinyl resins, phenol-formaldehyde resins, aminoplasts or polyurethanes may be applied in solution or emulsion by spraying, coating, striping and printing. The flock may be of nylon, cellulose acetate, rayon or acrylic fibres.
