Abstract

1327194 Tape cable connectors PRESSAC Ltd 3 Sept 1970 [12 Sept 1969] 45113/69 Heading H2E In an electrical connector for tape cables comprising two hinged plastics portions 1, 6, the base part 1 is provided with a pair of stops 20 and projections 22 to position and align the cables A and B and the top part 6 is provided with channels 11 each accommodating a contact 14, such that the respective exposed conductors 16 of the two cables are bridged when the parts are closed together. A split cylindrical part 13 of contact 14 projects through a hole in the channel to facilitate external connection to a lead 23. The connector may also be used to provide external connection to a single or continuous cable. When cables of lesser width are used the unrequired positions may be masked by a wall 3a.
