Abstract
1325515 Engine starter drive J MOLLIET 10 Dec 1971 [15 Dec 1970] 57449/71 Heading F1K [Also in Division F2] A starter device includes a drive pinion 2, an internally fluted socket 3 mounted on a rotatable fluted shaft 4 and a coupling 1 inter-connecting the pinion and socket. The coupling comprises two parts 20, 30 with one part fitting into the other with clearances between the two parts which allow limited longitudinal and rotational movement between them and damping means 41, 43 act between the two parts. A fork (not shown) controlled by an electromagnet or a manual operating device, acts on a member 54 shown in dotted lines and moves the pinion into engagement with the engine gear (not shown).
