Abstract
1323670 Cleaning compositions PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 23 Dec 1971 59988/71 Heading C5D A detergent composition comprises: A. 10-85 weight per cent of a surface-active agent as defined below and B. 10-75% of a citrate of formula (A) wherein M is H or a cation, which composition has a pH between 6 and 10 at 0À12% concentration in water. The detergent is selected from: (i) compounds of formula (B) wherein R 1 is C 10 _ 20 alkyl or alkenyl, R 2 is C 1 _ 10 alkyl and M is a cation, (ii) compounds of formula (C) wherein R 1 is C 9 _ 23 alkyl, R 2 is C 1 _ 8 alkyl and M is a cation, (iii) compounds of formula RO(C 2 H 4 O) x SO 3 M wherein R is C 10 _ 20 alkyl or alkenyl, x is 1-30 and M is a cation, (iv) C 12 _ 24 olefin sulphonates, (v) compounds of formula (D) wherein R 1 is C 8 _ 20 alkyl, R 2 is C 1 _ 3 alkyl and M is a cation, (vi) compounds of formula R 1 NR 2 CH 2 R 3 ZM wherein R 1 is C 8 _ 18 alkyl, R 2 is H or C 1 _ 3 alkyl, R 3 is C 1 _ 4 alkylene, Z is carboxy, sulphonate or sulphate and M is a cation, and (vii) compounds of formula: wherein R 1 is alkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl or a group of formula H 4 (OCH 2 CH 2 ) n - or R 4 OCH 2 CH(OH)CH 2 - wherein R 4 is alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl, n is 1-10 and the total number of carbon atoms in R 4 is 8-18, Y is N, P or S, R 2 is C 1 _ 3 alkyl or hydroxy alkyl, x is 1 when Y is S, or 2 when Y is N or P, R 3 is C 1 _ 4 alkylene or hydroxyalkylene, and Z is carboxylate, sulphonate, sulphate, phosphonate or phosphate. In the examples, the following ingredients are specified: Detergents: sodium salt of methyl ester of α-sulphonated tallow fatty acid, sodium #-acetoxyhexadecane sulphonate, the sodium sulphate of trioxyethylenated tallow fatty alcohol, sodium hexadecene sulphonate, sodium #-methoxy tetradecane sulphonate, and dimethyl hexadecyl ammonio propane sulphonate, Citrates: sodium citrate, potassium citrate, citric acid, Others: sodium silicate, sodium sulphate, sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydroxide and protease enzyme.
