Abstract
1322764 Metallurgical ladles DIDIER WERKE AG 23 July 1970 [25 July 1969] 35731/70 Heading F4B [Also in Division F2] In a metallurgical ladle having a bottom pour opening 5<SP>1</SP> in a backing plate 5 controlled by an apertured slide valve plate 11, the upper sealing surface of the said plate and its discharge aperture 15 are covered with highly refractory corrosion resistant material. The material may be molybdenum disilicide MoSi 2 or a zirconium oxide/molybdenum mixture which may contain 40% metallic chromium. The covering is attached by a refractory cement capable of absorbing the different thermal expansion between the covering and the slide plate. The inlet sleeve 4, backing plate 5, slide plate 11 and discharge sleeve 12 may be made of a mullite/ corundum/clay containing approximately 80% A 2 O 3 .
