Abstract

1320142 Suspended ceilings CONDOR INTERNATIONAL Ltd 2 June 1970 [4 June 1969] 28207/69 Heading E1W In a ceiling system two parallel sets of intersecting framing members 1, 2 are located with respect to each other by bridge shaped locating devices 6 formed of or including fusible material and spanning the main member 1, holding down the subsidiary members 2 which are directly supported on and are in direct engagement with the outwardly directed flanges 5 of the main members. The devices 6 may be formed of fusible self extinguishing nylon and have arms 8, 9 engaging in slots 10 in the subsidiary members 2. Fusible wedges may be provided between the end of the members 2 and the member 1. The main members 1 may be formed of two pieces each connected by engagement in a sleeve held tight to the members 1 by bolts and nuts clamped on fusible washers. Alternatively a spacing strip (17) Fig. 3 (not shown) may be secured to the sleeve and the members 1 by fusible pegs (not shown).
