Abstract

1319031 Tractants SUN OIL CO 12 Jan 1971 1384/71 Addition to 1308834 Heading C5F A tractant composition comprises at least one member from groups (A) and (B) (A) A hydrocarbon dimer of an alkyladamantane and/or alkyl adamantanol of the C 12 to C 19 range containing from 1 to 3 alkyl groups of the C 1 to C 3 range, the dimer containing two adamantane nuclei which are linked to each other through an alkylene radical derived from and having the same number of carbon atoms as an alkyl group of the starting material; and (B) An ether analogous to a hydrocarbon dimer from group (A) but in which there are two linkages between the nuclei, one of which is an alkylene radical derived from and having the same number of carbon atoms as an alkyl group of the starting material and the other is an ether linkage, and at least one member from the following groups (C) and (D) (C) A C 13 to C 40 naphthene hydrocarbon having a glass transition temperature of from - 90‹ to 30‹ C.; and (D) A branched paraffin hydrocarbon corresponding to a fully hydrogenated polymer of a C 3 to C 8 olefin.
