Abstract

1318253 Continuous winding apparatus COMPAGNIE DE SAINT-GOBAIN-PONTA-MOUSSON 21 Aug 1970 [22 Aug 1969] 40448/70 Heading D1J The winding drums A and B have parallel axes that lie in a common plane inclined to the horizontal. When the sleeves on drum A are fully wound, a yarn deflector 6 moves along a guide cylinder 6a to push the yarns 4, 5 off said sleeves and onto a power driven winding ring 7. An arm 18 then moves the ring 7 to a setting in which it is co-axial with drum B, and the yarn deflector 6a is then retracted to permit the yarns 4, 5 to move onto the traverse means 3 for take-up by sleeves on the drum B. The winding ring 7 is displaceable axially of either winding drum so as to surround an end portion of the relevant drum. The angle of inclination of said inclined plane is preferably from 30‹ to 60‹ to the horizontal.
