1317208 Seals ARMSTRONG PATENTS CO Ltd 19 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 40526/70 Heading F2B Bearing and sealing means for the piston-rod 16 of a shock absorber comprises a bearing guide member 14 and a resilient seal which is located between the guide member and a retainer 24 and has a radially outwardly directed membrane 34 clamped between the guide member and the retainer. Lubricating oil is supplied through a passage 30 to a space between the seal and guide member containing a spring 26 and backing washer 28. An 0-ring 32 is clamped between the retainer and the guide member.
