Abstract

1316162 Tamperproof closures CAPTOCAP Ltd 27 Oct 1970 [19 Nov 1969] 51057/70 Heading B8T A fluid-tight tamper-proof assembly comprises substantially matching profiles on a container neck 2 and cap skirt 14. Gaps 20 accommodate skirt ribs 15, 17, 19, when force is exerted on the cap in the direction F thereby resisting cap removal which, therefore, requires the breaking of the cap. In a modification, two ribs on the neck and skirt are employed. In a further embodiment, Fig. 5, a removable tear strip 13 is incorporated. Removal of the strip 13 forms a hinge portion about which the upper cap can pivot to allow contents removal. An inner skirt 41, having a rib 42, together with rib 44, 15, increases the fluid-tight characteristics of the assembly. A separate seal member (Fig. 7, not shown), may replace the inner skirt and ribs 41, 44, 15.
