Abstract

1313947 Floors BRITISH STEEL CORP 23 Nov 1971 [23 Nov 1970] 55648/70 Heading E1W A steel-framed building has precast concrete floor slabs 16, 16' which are supported on the steel joists 10 and have portions at each end with sloping upper surfaces 17, 17' which surfaces are grooved to improve the keying of the cast-in-situ concrete filling 34 between the slabs. The joists 10 have studs 12 projecting from their upper surfaces, and have apertured webs, Fig. 1 (not shown). The cast-in-situ concrete 34 may be reinforced by bent transverse rods 28 and longitudinal rods 30. The grooves are of saw-toothed shape in elevation.
