1313104 Prefabricated room units ELCON AG 17 July 1970 [24 July 1969] 37187/69 Heading E1A The lower storey, Fig. 1, of a semi-detached house is constructed from prefabricated room units 10, 11, 12 each having end walls 21, 22, a party wall 23 and partition walls, such as 26, 28, as desired. The arrangement of partition walls is such that the lower storey is divided into living rooms 37, hall 33, kitchen 34, lavatory 36 and store room 35. A stairway 23 leads to the upper storey which is likewise composed of three prefabricated room units subdivided by partition walls into bedrooms, see Fig. 2 (not shown). Eachroom unit has a prefabricated ceiling 56, Fig. 13, and the ceiling of the uppermost unit incorporates insulating layers and is covered by roof panels of precast concrete or metal; additional coverings of bitumen and felt topped by gravel being provided as appropriate. Each end wall such as 24, 25 may consist of inner and outer concrete panels 75, 76 with a layer of heat and/or sound insulating material therebetween, the panels being spaced apart by metal uprights 78 slotted at 80 to accommodate the roof panel 56 any of the wall panels may comprise load-bearing columns with in-fill panelling and the party walls 23 may incorporate service conduits. The floor panel is provided with ribs to locate some on the foundations and may incorporate pre-stressing cables therein.
