Abstract

1311981 Yarn processing apparatus MAREMONT CORP 4 Aug 1970 37646/70 Heading B5B [Also in Divisions D1 and F2] A yarn processing apparatus useful in processing continuous filament yarns, as in drawing or shrinking operations, comprises a roll 12 mounted on a shaft 14 supported at one end of the roll by a bracket 16 which is adjustable pivotally about and longitudinally of a shaft 18. The shaft 14 is driven by a belt 26 from an input shaft 20. The belt is tensioned by a spring (41), Fig. 3 (not shown), and adjustment about shaft 18 is effected by screws 50 after release of screw (52). Two similar rolls 12, 12<SP>1</SP> may be employed interposed by a heating block 28 with grooves 54 for insertion of a tool 56 to remove cap from the rolls. The use of the apparatus with a monofilament yarn is disclosed. The rolls may be other than cylindrical, e.g. conical.
