Abstract

1311534 General purpose cleaner M K PAGE 16 Aug 1971 [17 Aug 1970] 39551/70 Heading C5D A general purpose cleaner comprises an aqueous solution of a water-miscible degreasing solvent, isopropanol, a nonionic detergent and an alkali metal hydroxide. A concentrate is prepared by the addition of water to a mixture containing 60-70% water-miscible degreasing solvent, 10-15% isopropanol, 15-20% non- ionic detergent and 5-10% alkali metal hydroxide. A preferred degreasing solvent is 2-butoxyethanol and the preferred detergents are alkylphenolethylene oxide condensates. Pine oil (perfume) or a germicide may be present. Other glycol alkyl ethers may be used as water-miscible degreasing solvents.
