Abstract
1277286 Skin cleansing compositions FARBWERKE HOECHST AG 21 Aug 1969 [21 Aug 1968] 41827/69 Heading C5D A cleansing composition comprises an anionic surfactant and, as a skin protecting agent, a compound of general formula in which R 1 is H, a C 1 -C 18 straight or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl; and R 2 is x is 2 in which case n is 1 or 2 or x is an integer of 3 to 6 in which case n is 1; or an alkali metal or NH 4 salt thereof. Preferred are compounds of formula wherein R 1 has the above meaning, e.g. coconut oil alkyl propylene diamine maleic acid semiamide, diethylene triamine maleic acid semiamide and hexamethylene diamine maleic acid semi amide. The surfactant may be the sodium salt of a C 12 -C 14 fatty alcohol diglycol ether sulphate, a secondary alkane sulphonate or an alpha olefin sulphonate in aqueous solution.
