Abstract
1311456 Transformers TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO Ltd 27 Oct 1971 [31 Oct 1970] 49886/71 Heading H1T A voltage transformer comprises a flared insulator 9, preferably made of polyethylene resin, to which are fixed at a flange 7 upper, 1, and lower, 3, portions of a tank and which supports a rod-shaped magnetic core 23 at the same potential as the primary winding, a primary winding 31 which is the high voltage winding and a secondary winding 35 which surrounds the primary winding. The upper portion of the tank is fixed to a second cone-shaped insulator 41 which together with the insulator 9 and shield rings 17 and 45 support a rod 21 which passes through a central bore in the core 23. Between the core and the primary winding are an insulating sleeve 27 and a shield winding 29. The primary winding is made up of sections supported by annular members 33. An insulating sleeve 37 is placed between the windings. Electrical contact is effected by a contact 47 via contact members 51, 49 to the supporting- rod 21 and hence to the primary winding. A high-voltage screen 53 surrounds high-voltage parts. Magnetic shield boards 69 are attached to the interior of the tank and provide a return path for the magnetic flux. Fins 59 are provided for cooling. A gas such as sulphur hexafluoride is passed via valves 61, 63. A terminal 65 is provided for the earth connection of the primary winding and a terminal box 67 for connections to the secondary winding.
