Abstract

1309762 Injection moulding battery boxes JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 6 May 1970 [19 May 1969(2)] 25302/69 and 25302/69 Heading B5A Apparatus for injection moulding battery boxes comprises a plurality of inlet passages 14 through which molten resin flows into inlet zones 32 in a die cavity 13, and flow restrictors 34 (Fig. 2) between the inlet zones and the remainder of the die cavity. The flow restrictors ensure a more even flow of the resin. The resin is injected through a passage 19 heated by coils (25), Fig. 3 (not shown), ports 21, a passage 31 and a port 15. The passage 31 is formed in a member 26 and is part-cylindrical and partconical. An insert 28 provided with radial plates 29 and a conical portion 28a assist in heating the material while it is being injected. An insulating plate 17 is provided between the die part 12 and the runner box 16.
