Abstract

1309229 Card clothing for flats ASHWORTH BROS Inc 17 Aug 1971 [11 Sept 1970 29 July 1971] 38488/71 Heading D1N Card clothing for a flat comprises curved or bent metallic wire strips having a base portion of greater width than the upstanding toothed portion which are nested together in contact with one another with the rows teeth being disposed at an angle to the direction of fibre flow. The card clothing can be glued in or on a support which is mounted in or on a carding flat. The strips can be mounted in a V-shaped groove in the flat so that the strips have two points of contact with a carding cylinder when in use. The strips may be covered with epoxy or polyester resin to limit the projecting height of the teeth.
