Abstract
1308002 Change-speed gear NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 21 April 1970 [14 July 1969] 29251/72 Divided out of 1308001 Heading F2D Three reduced ratios, direct-drive, one overdrive and one reverse, are provided by three sun-ring trains 12, 13, 14, identical or not, and a fourth two-element train 45a of which the planets are carried by the second carrier C2, and the sun S4 is fast with the third sun S3, the remaining connections being as shown. Three input clutches K1, K2, K3 and three brakes B1, B2, B3, the last two with parallel one-way brakes 32, 47 select as follows. The clutch K2 drives S1, S2 in the first four ratios, K1 driving R1, being used with K2 for fourth and with a single brake for reverse. Overdrive fifth is by applying the brake B1 and engaging the clutch K3 to drive C2 direct from the input impeller P of a torque-converter or fluid-coupling through which the gear is driven in all other ratios.
