Abstract
1308001 Change-speed gear NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 21 April 1970 [3 June 1969] 18888/70 Heading F2D Three reduced ratios, direct-drive and one reverse, are provided by three sun-ring-planet trains 12, 13, 14, identical or not, interconnected as shown, drive issuing to an output shaft 11 from C1, R2, S3, input from 10 being selectively applied through two clutches K1, K2, respectively, to R1 for all forward ratios, and to S1, S2 for direct drive and reverse, whilst three brakes B1, B2, B3 are applied respectively to S1, S2 for third ratio, to C2, C3 for first and reverse, and to R3 for second. Input and output shafts may be transposed and the gear may be driven through a fluid coupling or torque converter. Ratios are specified and a graphical solution shown. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,181,929.
