Abstract

1307704 Photo-electric analysis COULTER ELECTRONICS Inc 12 March 1970 [17 March 1969] 11907/70 Heading G1A [Also in Divisions B1 and G2] Apparatus for radiant analysis of liquid samples by absorbance measurement comprises a onepiece cuvette 10 having an upper entrance part, a primary chamber 14 transparent to radiant energy, the entrance port leading directly into primary chamber 14 and having around it an annular overflow reservoir 40 with a drain 42, a drain 26 for the cuvette connected to the primary chamber 14 through a second chamber 20 and to the outside of housing 30 through housing 48, drain 26 having cross-section smaller than the cross-sections of all other portions of the cuvette. The apparatus also comprises radiant energy transmitter 32 and radiant energy transducing receiver 34. The cuvette may have aligned parallel wall portions 16, 18.
