Abstract
1307151 Vibratory feeder bowl ARTHUR G RUSSELL CO Inc 19 May 1971 [26 May 1970] 15788/71 Heading B8A [Also in Division F2] A vibratory feeder bowl 10 with a helical ramp 11 is bolted to a plate 12 mounted on vibratory units 30 secured to a base 20 and each including end-plates 31, 32 connected by leaf-springs 33 enclosing a motor 36. An adjustable vertical torsion bar assembly 40 is connected between the bowl 10 and the base 20 and comprises a centre bar 41 and two side bars 42, 43 integrally joined by base portion 44. The centre bar 41 has a head portion 46 bolted to the plate 12 and engaging in a slot 47 in a bar 48 welded to the centre of the plate 12. The torsion bar assembly 40 is bolted to a flexible plate 52 itself bolted to the base 20. Clamps 60, 61 are faced with low-friction material and clamped across opposite sides of the bars 41, 42, 43. They can be adjusted vertically by rotation of hexagonal head 74 through feed-screws 70, 71 threaded through tapped holes 67, 66 in the clamps 60, 61, and gears 73, 72. This adjusts the torsional spring rate of the assembly 40 and permits turning of the system for resonance while the system is operating.
