Abstract

1303310 Dispensing carrier bags K-H SENGEWALD 20 Nov 1970 [8 Dec 1969 21 Aug 1970] 55225/70 Heading A4G A device for dispensing carrier bags from a web 10 of such bags has a delivery slot 27 from which one end of the web can project, feed means for feeding the web to the slot, and a switch automatically operable to actuate the feed means when a bag is detached from the web at the slot. As shown, bag 12 can be detached by an upward pull, breaking along a perforated line between individual bags in the web, which tilts nozzle 27, and closes switch 28 to start a motor driving roller 22, which is of metal, to continue driving until roller 22 again contacts metal roller 20 through a hand-hole for the bag, when drive is stopped. The web of bags may be rolled, as shown, or folded, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown). Roller 22 is preferably spring-loaded into engagement with roller 20. The drive of the web may alternatively be under control of a photo-electric cell affected by markings on the web.
