1300821 Pneumatic conveyers; dispensing measured quantities of granular material INGENIEURBUREAU DR BREHM AG 30 Jan 1970 4670/70 Headings B8A and B8N [Also in Division B1] Apparatus for maintaining constant the level of material in a charging container 1 used in conjunction with a material consuming device e.g. an extender 2, comprises a material conveying conduit 10 through which the material is fed from a supply container (not shown) to the interior of the charging container 1 under suction from a pipe 8 and suction blower 9. The consuming device 2 is connected to the container 1 and has a conveying worm 4 above which is a locking slide member 5 at the container outlet. In operation, when both the container 1 is intially empty the slide member 5 is closed and the suction blower 9 sucks material into the container 1 through conduit 10. When the level of material reaches a sieve 12 the feed of material is stopped, the slide member 5 is opened and material enters the device 2 which is then put into operation and the level in the container 1 drops below the outlet 11 of the conduit 10. The blower 9 restarts and material is again fed into the container 1 until the level reaches the sieve 12 when the process described above is repeated. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown), the material conveying conduit (19) enters tangentially of the container and a suction tube (20) which enters the top of the container has an extension in the form of a sieve basket (21) which, when covered by the material, stops the flow of material to the container as described in relation to the first embodiment above.
