Abstract

1399761 Multiple flue chimneys F E BEAUMONT Ltd 5 Jan 1973 [7 Jan 1972] 830/72 Heading F4J In a multiple flue steel chimney with two inner flues 1 surrounded by an outer shell 3 and attached thereto by devices providing for relative longitudinal movement each device comprises a metal tube 5 welded to the shell and receiving one leg 7 of a bent bar 6, the other leg 8 engaging a slot (15, Fig. 3) in an L-shaped bracket 9 one flange 10 of which is welded to an inner flue the leg 7 being thus slidable and rotatable in the tube 5. The bracket has upper and lower plates 13 and the leg 8 is screwed to take nuts as shown. Apart from the spaces enclosed by the brackets 9 each flue 1 is surrounded by insulation. The inner flues are arranged diametrically within the shell 3 and each has two attachment devices.
