Abstract

1398394 Electric couplings THOMAS & BETTS CORP 23 Aug 1972 [23 Aug 1971] 39225/72 Heading H2E [Also in Division F2] A connector for fastening to a foil by compression comprises a first member 82, Fig. 5, carrying a plurality of projections 86 which penetrate the foil 78 enter the apertures 88 in a second member 84 and are deformed in a recess 90. The projections may be struck from or welded, soldered or brazed to members 82 and may have bifurcated or barbed ends, Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown). A rim may be formed round the aperture 88 on the side facing the foil to make firmer contact with the foil. Each member 82, 84 may carry both projections and apertures. The connector may be as shown in Figs. 1 and 2, with means 44, 58 for connection to wires. Alternatively the connector may be used to join two foils abutted end to end, Fig. 4 (not shown).
