Abstract

1397705 Traps BARTOL PLASTICS Ltd 15 Sept 1973 43405/73 Heading E1C [Also in Division F2] A passage 2 between the inlet and outlet sides of a trap by-passes the water seal and contains a one-way valve biassed to the closed position and arranged to be opened by any partial vacuum which should develop on the outlet side to thereby break the vacuum. The valve comprises an elastomeric disc 10 having a skirt 9 retained in the passage by a flanged nipple 8A. Apertures 11 in the disc normally engage the flange 7 on the nipple. A slotted elastomeric cover 20 may be located at the inlet end of the nipple, the slots 21 opening (as shown) under the action of the partial vacuum.
