Abstract

1394925 Swabs V R CABRAL 8 June 1973 [9 June 1972] 27511/73 Heading A5R A swab for sampling vaginal secretions, comprises a stem 4 slidable within a generally cylindrical tube 1 having approximately the same length and carrying an absorbent material 6 at one end and a knob 5 having greater transverse dimensions than the tube 1 at the other end, the tube 1, the stem 4 and the knob 5 being made of plastics material. The leading end 2 of the tube 1 is flared and the trailing edge has a flange 3. The tube 1 is provided with a stopper for plugging the end 2 after the vagina has been sampled. Means for preventing complete withdrawal of the stem 4 from the tube 1 are provided.
