Abstract

1393314 Freeing fouled anchors G MARTINEZ 31 Jan 1973 [16 Feb 1972] 4825/73 Heading B7S [Also in Division E2] An intermediate member between an anchor rope 2 and the anchor 1 consists of two elements 5, 6 which separate when a pull exceeding a predetermined value is exerted, and which are connected to the anchor top and the rope respectively. A further connection in the form of extension chain or rope 22 connects rope 2 to the base of the anchor with a slackness which remains unless the elements separate, after which the pull of the rope is transmitted via the further connection to the anchor base to facilitate retrieval of the anchor.
