Abstract

1391794 Injection mould closing devices R G JENKINS (Maschinenbau Rapp & Seidt) 10 March 1972 11414/72 Heading B5A Apparatus for opening and closing an injection mould comprises two mould supports 18, 26 which are relatively movable and at least one of the supports is in the form of a grating composed of a first plurality of strips extending parallel to one another and perpendicular to a second plurality of parallel strips. The invention facilitates the use of moulds of different sizes. As shown, two gratings are used, one, 18, being fixed and the other, 26, being slidable on rods 22 by a pressure cylinder 28. The mould comprises two parts 32, 34 and a core 52 also mounted on a grating 54 which can be reciprocated on rods 56 by a pressure cylinder 62. The apparatus is mounted in a frame 12 which can be pivoted about an axle 16 mounted in a table 10. Spring- biased ejector pins 40 operate when their heads 42 contact a stationary plate 20.
