Abstract

1368994 Trimming moulded articles DUNLOP Ltd 18 July 1972 [14 Aug 1971] 38238/71 Heading B5A In an apparatus for trimming mouldings from a sheet in which they are joined by sprue, formed for example in a multiple cavity compression mould, an array of cutting dies 3 is rigidly mounted on a base-plate 1, the internal cross-section of each die corresponding to that of a moulding, and a roller 5 is positioned above the dies by spacers 10 such that there is no contact pressure between the roller and dies; in use, the sheet is positioned on the cutting dies and the base-plate moved along, under the roller, on guides 9. The severed mouldings fall through the bores 3a and into a container 8. Spacers 10 maintain the spaced relationship between the roller and the dies.
