Abstract

1390535 Exercising apparatus R M MARTIN 9 Nov 1972 51683/72 Heading A6M An exercising device comprises a pair of spaced apart vertical pole members 12 and means for securing their top and bottom ends, a handle unit 44 secured to each pole so as to be vertically adjustable thereon and pivotable thereon between positions extending between the poles to positions extending outwards thereof, each handle unit including handle members parallel to each other for gripping by an exerciser. The device may also include a bottom member 20 slidably mounted for vertical movement on the poles and resiliently biassed by springs 32 connected to brackets 34. The lower member can include a platform 24 and brackets on sleeves 22 to support a cross bar carrying weights. There may also be a top cross member 114 slidable and adjustable on the poles 12 and providing top hand gripping means and chin resting means to provide for various types of exercises. The units 44 can also incorporate support means (when in the outward extending position) for a body frame 46-see Specification 1390536.
