Abstract

1388770 Scraping apparatus for material piles WAIMER MASCHINENFABRIK KG 24 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 24359/72 Heading B8E [Also in Division E1] A drag line scraper apparatus for moving material stored in a segmented distributing apparatus comprises a jib 60 pivotable about vertical and horizontal axes supporting a scraper bucket actuated by cables 64, 66 taken to winch drums T2, T1 respectively. The drums T1, T2 are driven from a shaft in turn driven by a motor 8 through a chain drive 69-71 and a disengageable clutch 9 or 10 which are respectively actuatable to clutch a pinion 13 or 15 to the shaft to drive the appropriate drum. A motor M drives pumps P1, P2 the former under the control of a control mechanism in the form of a disc 1 actuated by an operating lever 74 which can be moved manually or in automatic operation by an electromagnet 35 to engage a clutch 9 or 10 by actuating a cylinder 11 or 12 to effect the rotation of one of the drums. Free wheel devices 29, 30 are connected to the drums T1, T2 and comprise worm and worm wheels 29, 29a, 30, 30a driven by a control motor 31 and connected by an electro-magnetic clutch 34. The pump P2 actuates a motor 22 which under the control of a similar control disc 17 acts to pivot the jib 60 about its vertical axis and may if switch over valves 82, 83 are provided actuate a motor 85 to raise or lower the jib 60.
