I claim:
l. A single lever control for a two-drum grab winch comprising a hoisting motor, a hoisting drum and a grab-operating drum both driven from said hoisting motor, a grab-operating motor for driving said grab-operating drum, and planet gearing connecting said hoisting motor and said grab-operating motor with said graboperating drum whereby the drive of the latter motor may be superposed upon that of the former motor, said control consisting of a lever element movable about two axes disposed at an angle one to the other, electric control 'means lfor the hoisting motor and electric 'control means Tor the grab-operating motori, the said control means for the hoisting motor being operated independently byV movement of the lever element about one axis and the control means for the grab-operating motor being operated independently by movement of the lever element about the second axis into either of two limiting posi'- tions.
2. In a single lever control for a two-drum grab winch according to claim l, the provision of fixed contacts disposed at opposite sides of the lever element and positioned at a short distance apart for engagement respectively by the lever element in its movements in opposed directions about the said axis, the said contacts extending parallel to the directions of movement of the lever element about the first axis sufriciently to permit the lever element to contact therewith at any required position of the movements about the rst axis, the said contacts serving electric circuits for the control of the operation of the grab-operatingmotor.
3. A single lever control for a two-drum grab winch comprising a hoisting motor, a hoisting drum and a grab-operating drum both driven from said hoisting motor, a grab-operating motor for driving said grab-operating drum, and planet gearing connecting said hoisting motor and said grab-operating motor with said graboperating drum whereby the drive of the latter motor may be superposed upon that of the former motor, said control consisting of a lever element, a spindle upon which said lever element is pivoted for restricted movement in a plane containing the spindle, the said spindle being rotatably mounted, an electric controller for said hoisting motor, said electric controller comprising movable and fixed elements, transmission mechanism between said lever element and said movable element of the controller for imparting movement to the latter from the former, and contacts disposed in fixed position and on opposite sides of said lever element to cooperate therewith in the restricted movement about the pivotal axis upon the spindle, said contacts extending in parallel positions transverse to the axis of the spindle for engagement by the lever element at any position of its movetric circuits the motor.
